About Saraayu

An institute built around the subjects everyone else avoids

Saraayu Institute of Economics, Statistics & Econometrics exists because the quantitative half of the Economics syllabus is where candidates lose marks — and where teaching is thinnest.

Why Saraayu exists

Walk into most Economics coaching and you will find the same pattern: theory covered thoroughly, Indian Economy covered thoroughly, and the quantitative units — Mathematical Economics, Econometrics, Statistics — handled quickly and apologetically. Students absorb the message that these units are optional, skip them, and then lose the marks that decide selection.

Saraayu was founded on the opposite premise. The quantitative units are taught first, in depth, from first principles, by faculty who chose them deliberately. Everything else in the syllabus is taught to the same standard, but this is where the institute takes its identity.

The second founding conviction is about language. A great many capable candidates in Telangana study in Telugu and are then asked to learn technical Economics in English. Teaching bilingually — reasoning in Telugu, terminology in English — removes a barrier that has nothing to do with ability.

Principles

How we teach

Six commitments that govern what happens in every classroom.

Concepts before shortcuts

Formula sheets fail the moment a question is framed differently. We build the reasoning first, so the formula becomes obvious rather than memorised.

The hard units are the whole point

Econometrics, Mathematical Economics and Statistics decide ranks because most candidates avoid them. We teach them as the core, not as an appendix.

Evidence over opinion

What we teach and how much time we give it is decided by previous-year question analysis, not by tradition or convenience.

Language should never be the barrier

Bilingual instruction means a Telugu-medium graduate and an English-medium graduate sit in the same class without either being disadvantaged.

Judgement, not information

Information is now free and instant. What we teach is what to do with it — which question to ask, and whether an answer makes sense.

Accountability by design

Small cohorts, named students, evaluated scripts, tracked weak units. Consistency is easier when someone is expecting you.

Vision 2030

From institute to affiliated college

Saraayu is designed to grow into formal higher education, not to remain a coaching brand.

Phase 1 — now

Specialist coaching institute

Bilingual programmes for UGC-NET, TG-SET, DL/JL and ASO, with econometrics and quantitative methods as the signature strength. Digital reach through recorded lectures and a proprietary previous-year question database.

Phase 2 — 12–24 months

Academy with research output

Permanent teaching centre in Hyderabad, expanded faculty, structured test series, and a published research stream on the Indian economy and the economics of artificial intelligence.

Phase 3 — 3–5 years

Affiliated college of econometrics

Formal degree programmes in Economics, Statistics and Econometrics under affiliation to an Indian university, with recognised faculty, laboratories and research supervision.

Phase 3 is an intention, not a current credential. Saraayu Institute is presently a specialist coaching institute and does not yet award degrees; university affiliation will be announced publicly once formally granted.
